It is rooted in the style of a classic didone, excluding the typical serifs and ball terminals as well as being designed with a cleaner, more reductionist appearance. Abandoning traditionally executed cursive italic letterforms. Vanitas is a sans-serif typeface designed by Michael Jarboe and published through Reserves in 2011. It features a high contrast, geometric design in the style of classic Didones such as Bodoni and Didot but is unique in that it was designed without serifs.
