Nov 17, 2017 - Using Adobe Audition on Mac. Click on the open folder icon under “Files” in the left hand corner and navigate to the file you wish to open for transcoding. Next select the open.wav file and navigate to File->Export. Select File and a new “Export File” window will open. In the Format drop down Select “Apple Audio. These filters extend the functionality of Cool Edit or Adobe Audition by providing. This filter provides support for opening MPEG-4 AAC & Apple Lossless files.

The “AAC Plugin for Adobe Audition” from: that I’ve downloaded thanks to the author of Post #2 in and inserted into CoolEdit Pro 2 program files root folder, works! For AAC/.m4a encoding experiments I used “dBpoweramp Music Converter” “m4a Nero (AAC)” tool. I played “.m4a” files in “VLC Player” and viewed in “SillanumSoft Visual Analyser”, but before, I couldn’t make CoolEdit Pro 2 decode (play) them. Now it works, with spectrum visualization (Frequency Analysis window) up to 48 kHz for “.m4a” files. For “.wav” files created with 192 kHz sampling frequency, CoolEdit Pro 2 spectrum visualization goes up to 96 kHz.
